The Glanmire Division in Cork is now well established.With a long and established history in Ireland Cork and now Glanmire, St. John Ambulance is always looking out for enthusiastic and willing volunteers to join up and train. The St. John Ambulance Bridage is a leading organisation in the provision of First Aid and training throughout the country. It provides medical cover for many major events such as concerts, rugby, racing and other major public gatherings. St. John Ambulance Cork was delighted to welcome teams from Dublin to our headquarters for the Annual Cork Senior Competitions, on May 7th last. The Dublin contingent was joined by a large group of travelling supporters, to cheer on their team on the floor. Our Commissioner, Prof. Patrick Plunkett, also travelled down to view our competitions. Originally, the competition had been organised in an outside venue, but due to poor weather, had to be held indoors at our headquarters on Victoria Road. Competitions are going through a revival, and the scenarios our Competitions Officer, Sean O’Reilly, formulates, reflect that. This Saturday, 7th of May, St. John Ambulance Cork, welcome teams from our fellow divisions across the country, to Cork, for the annual Cork Senior Competitions. This is a favourite fixture in the Brigade competition calendar, and all competitors relish the opportunity to travel down to compete and to socialise. We at St. John Ambulance Cork, pride ourselves on creating the most realistic scenarios, to ensure that competitors get as close to a real-life experience as possible. St John Ambulance Cork, were delighted to participate at the annual Senior Competitions, held in Brigade Headquarters on Saturday April 16th last. The environs of HQ played host to 17 teams from all over the country, from Co. Louth to Co. Cork. The competitions were very successful and universally praised by all, as one of the best of recent years, with excellent time-keeping and realistic injuries. Warm welcomes were extended to teams from our newly formed divisions from Drogheda and Knocklyon, who had entered teams into competition for the first time.
